The fire pump is one of the most critical pieces of firefighting equipment needed in any operation. It is part of the sprinkler systems and is powered by electricity, steam or diesel. The pump can be connected to static water sources like tanks and reservoirs, or it might be connected to a public underground water source. A building with low water pressure is likely to have a fire pump in the fire protection system. As a building owner or property manager, you are required to inspect and test your fire pumps regularly predictable operation. These basic requirements come from NFPA 25 and 20.
